A single lapis lazuli stone. Deep blue — the color of a Himalayan night sky. Threaded with gold pyrite veins that catch light like scattered stars. Each stone is cut from a different piece of rough, so no two have the same pattern.
Lapis has been mined in Afghanistan and traded through Tibet for over four thousand years. It was ground into pigment for Renaissance paintings. Pharaohs wore it. The blue does not fade. Worn close, it is a piece of that history.
